Before you start on your path to becoming a Pet influencer, you need to select your niche, AKA your tribe.

Each Fur Friend has different interests, some are into fashion, others into a healthy lifestyle, some into DIY… the possibilities are endless.

So, how do you find your niche? Think of what could you share with your Furllowers? What do you know about the most?

As a Petfluencer, it is very important to choose something you are passionate about and you enjoy spending your time on.

Now you found your tribe, so where should you start posting?

Select your preferred Social Media platforms and create or optimize your content and profile. Keep in mind, that most Petfluencers are popular on only one or two Social Media Platforms. It is best to focus your efforts on only 1-2 channels.

But now what to do? We already have our channel, how do we communicate? 

> Create an Engaging Bio

Did you know that IG scans your Bio when showing your content to other users? Your bio is also the first thing Fur Friends sees when they visit your profile, and it’s very important of making a great first impression.

Write a fun sentence that includes your name, what makes you special and what will your furllowers find in your profile.

Your Profile Picture will be seen by everyone on your Social Media Channel, so it is very important that you take some time choosing it.

Remember, that it needs to be high-quality, reflect your profile aesthetic, and show your adorable face so everyone can recognize you.  

3. Understand Your Audience

Yes, it can get rough, but it is very important that you put yourself into your furllower’s mind. What do they want to see in your account? Are they into training tips, maybe fashion?
Brainstorm some ideas while you think of your perfect Furllower, and then choose the ones your furllowers like the most. For example, if your Training post had a really good reach, try preparing more training posts! 

To become a Petfluencer, it is important that you know who you’re targeting and then do it well to build a loyal furllower base.

4. Create and Post Relevant Content

The next step in becoming a petfluencer is to post useful and relevant content for your Fur Friends. The more you are able to engage with your audience, the more people will be influenced by your opinions and recommendations.

You already have your tribe, and you know their interests, so create your content around these fields. Remember to keep your content focused only on your tribe niche. 

5. Be Regular and Consistent

Most social media platforms’ algorithms give preference to accounts that post regularly. We can tell you from our experience, that it is super important to find the most active timing of your Furllowers, and then post during that time every day. Because of regular posting frequency helps increase your visibility. 

6. Engage With Your Audience 

We all like to have our favorite Petstagramer like and comment on our posts as well as replying to our messages. So it is super important to engage with your Fur Friends, give them likes, comment on their posts, and react to their stories.

7. Let Brands Know You’re Open to Collaborations

So, now you have a pawsome Social Media Channel, you’ve grown your tribe of Furllowers, so, what now?

The final step in order to become a paid Pet Instagramer, is to announce the world of brands, that you are interested in brand collaborations.

How? The most popular way is to write on your bio that you are a Pet influencer and you are interested in collaborations. Provide a contact email so they can write their proposals to you.

Another way is for you to contact your favorite brands. We know it might seem overwhelming but just keep in mind these tips: 

  • Write a short and catchy subject line so the brand gets an interest in your proposal 
  • Include a direct link to your Instagram or other Social Media 
  • Include your qualitative stats
  • Engagement rate
  • Monthly views
  • Audience demographics
  • List the top 3 reasons why the brand should consider your proposal
